Window Frosting For Your Office
Choosing The Right Pattern
Are you looking for privacy in your office while allowing light to pass through? Maybe some creative design to convey the culture of your business? Look no further. Let’s work together and design the perfect space.
Privacy
If privacy is your primary concern, we recommend that the top of your frosting is no less than 68″ from the floor. For the average individual, it would be difficult to see anything lower than that height on the other side of the glass unless they were to stand directly next to it. If total privacy is required, then the film should be a minimum of 72″ or should cover the entire piece of glass.
We recommend a height of 58″ tall; the pattern may be a single solid band or multiple bands with a reveal or gap in between each. The horizontal reveals are great to create a certain level of openness yet still give a sense of privacy depending on the size of the gaps.
Safety Vision Strips
Vision strips or bands are great for areas that need frosting to prevent individuals from walking into clear glass. While different municipal jurisdictions have varying policies, a minimum of a 2″ tall graphic is usually required for the final inspection. We recommend a height of approximately 60″ tall, which is generally noticeable for most individuals.
A height of 6″ tall and installed at approximately door handle height for permanent vision strips is ideal. The taller band is more noticeable, reducing an individual’s chance to walk into the glass, yet the lower height of the film will not obstruct the view.
Combination of Privacy and Safety Vision Strips
If your space requires a combination of vision strips and privacy, we recommend a couple of pattern variations. The middle band would consist of a shorter height that would work as a vision strip, and then there would be an additional single or multiple bands above and below that. Those additional bands would create the required privacy.
